Yeah, but I’m actually GOOD at hiking. And beer.

Don't sell yourself short. You're also very good at picking great 80s music on the jukebox.

As for that watermelon, he was asking for it. Stupid bratty watermelons....

Also...
Hmmm, beer and pool seem much easier and safer than hiking 14ers.

We can probably find a toddler for you to borrow if you need to feel that you’re “really hiking”
:)
Maybe for the safety of myself and the toddler, I should start off with a watermelon or a pumpkin in my backpack, and if I can bring those back from the hike unharmed, then I could move on to actual children. Kinda like that exercise in high school where you care for an egg for a week to see how prepared you are for parenting.

Hmmm, beer and pool seem much easier and safer than hiking 14ers. I'm getting very tempted to spend my upcoming days off in the billiard hall instead of perilously clinging to mountain ledges. Besides, Allison and Joy now have me convinced that it's not "real" hiking unless you have a baby strapped to your back.

BTW, apologies for not having a permalink to the posts on my site. My readership generally doesn't expand much beyond my Mom and my Aunt Virginia.
