Beginning to feel better about being here

“Here” = grad school. Here’s one piece of instructor feedback from this week (from the instructor I find both inspiring and intimidating, even):

Allison this is a more extensive response posting than I usually see, and a few others are providing models of excellent work that goes beyond the minimum expected. The analogy you drew between depression and addiction as this relates to choice is compelling and shows very high level thinking. I hope all your classmates read it.

Yay, me!

I’m desperately trying to find “my voice” within the confines of scholarly writing and APA style. This post probably fit “my voice” more than my other work this week, and whaddya know? It’s the one he said was excellent work. I need to find this flow on a regular basis now!

Yay you! You have been sounding so in-the-zone lately. It’s really wonderful and motivating to hear you so ON.

Keep posting. This reminded me to resist the urge to do “just enough” and really take advantage of the opportunity. Not everyone in our situation gets to go back to school, and our families make the sacrifice right along with us, so I should just quit bitching/slacking and keep bringing my “A” game.

    Good for you, smarty-pants!

    Yay you indeed!!!

I think I have figured my next step school-wise…Massage Therapy:) There is a wonderful school in CT that emcompasses several different holistic health modalities & now my question is “how soon can I start?” Teaching…as I blogged about the other day…is just not a good fit anymore, not really sure it ever was.
